Chandler TG12413 Zener Limiter is based on EMI's classic and legendary EMI TG12345 mixer series which back in the 1960s was installed in EMI's studios, and is best known from the iconic Abbey Road studio.
The EMI TG12345 mixer used for the recordings of The Beatles and Pink Floyd and a host of other legendary bands is known and loved for its musicality and universal usability. Therefore, it continues to be used for the critical mastering tasks in Abbey Road.
The new reproduction of EMI´s Zener compressor / limiter continues in line EMI´s tradition of building own solutions, a trend that started in 1951 - 1956 with RS56 / RS114. The RS56 Eq´ was nicknamed “the Curve bender” by EMI´'s designers and it stuck in the following years with the TG12345 in 1968, and the TG12412 in 1974. The Chandler Zener Limiter brings the legendary musical TG12345 compression and limitation into the 21st. century with the features expected today of a high-end compressor for professional use.
