Since its inception in Hamburg in the early 80s, Steinberg has been among the leading producers of music and audio software. Famous Steinberg products such as Cubase, Nuendo, WaveLab and HALion are used by musicians, studios, producers and teachers all over the world.

In 2005, Steinberg was taken over by Yamaha, which with its long tradition of developing cutting-edge hardware, has allowed Steinberg to complement the excellent software products with premium sound cards, interfaces and controllers in several price ranges.
