The API 505-DI is specially designed to receive a direct signal from a guitar, bass or keyboard. With the Gain control, the instrument's input level is normalized up to +4 dBu output level. The unique TONE control reduces potential "mud" in the signal, while the BRIGHT switch adds extra clarity to the top. The TONE and BRIGHT controls in combination can eliminate the use of EQ during recording and thus ensure a short and clean signal path.
