With Universal Audio's OX Amp Top Box, you can play your favorite tube amplifier turned up to the level where it plays the best without disturbing the neighbors or drowning out the rest of the band. But it can do much more than that: With UA's Dynamic Speaker Modeling system, you get access to lots of authentic microphone and guitar cabinet simulations.

The OX Amp Top Box is the perfect solution for the guitarist in the sound studio or in the orchestra pit in the theater, where you can get maximum performance from your amplifier at a balanced sound level. As the OX is a reactive load box, it responds in a complex and non-linear way when you play the amplifier – exactly as you experience with a connected speaker cabinet. This allows you to achieve the characteristic "cone cry", which is only generated at certain frequencies and volume levels. And you can hear the lifelike sound of a speaker pushed to the limit when you turn the amp all the way up, even if the sound level is at bedroom level. You can't just hear the complex sonic responses from the amp, you can also feel them, as the OX responds to your playing style just like a well-matched amp/cabinet setup does. With dozens of microphone and cabinet emulations available, you get plenty of flexibility in the studio. It's like having a world-class microphone placed perfectly in front of just the right cabinet in a good-sounding studio. Except you don't have to fiddle with the mic, struggle with reflections and attenuation, eliminate noise, etc. Just plug in your favorite amp, use the Rig control knob to select the best mic/cabinet combo, and you're ready to record with the coolest sound at all listening levels. With the OX app for your computer, iPad or mobile, you have full control over all parameters in your OX via wifi. You have access to the most important parameters and can switch between microphone/cabinet combinations. If you don't want to bring a computer or iPad to work, you can upload 6 complete guitar rigs from home, which you can choose directly from the front panel.
