1073 is by far the most legendary and beloved microphone preamp / eq, and for good reason. The ancestors go back to the early 1970s where Rupert Neve, in the opinion of many, invented "the Holy Grail" in recording with his 1073 preamp / eq. BAE 1073 is as authentic and true to the original as possible. It uses the same St Ives (Carnhill) transformers as the originals, Elma switches and Canford wire - this is the real deal.
BAE 1073 also looks visually like the vintage modules, and can easily be retro-fitted to vintage 80-series consoles as it uses the same cassis construction, connections, printboard and hand-wired circuitry.
This original specification has made the BAE 1073 the "go-to" modules when something needs to be replaced on the old desks or where an absolutely authentic sound on single channels is desired. In short, BAE is 1073.
1073 is available for mounting in original 80-Series Neve console, or as here in rack-mount. In addition to the face plate, the modules are identical.
